In today’s exercise, we’ll listen to the song Me Gustas Tú by French-Spanish artist Manu Chao.
This is one of the easiest songs for students who are still learning Spanish to try to understand. In the main verses of the song, the singer simply recites all of the things that he likes using the following pattern:
Me gusta los aviones (I like planes)
Me gustas tú (I like you),
Me gusta viajar (I like to travel),
Me gustas tú (I like you).
To turn this song into a learning exercise, we are going to use our simplified version of our Dialogue Deconstruction Method. If you are not familiar with our Dialogue Deconstruction Method, you can learn more about our conversational Spanish learning method here.
For now, listen to the song and try to write down a list of all the things that the singer says that he likes. If you have a modest vocabulary in Spanish, all by a few the items should be familiar to you already.

Listen to the song a few times and try to write down all of things he says that he likes, while listening in the song by ear. Listen to the song at least two or three times and try to write down as many items are possible.
